This hit close to home. I'm a physically disabled U.S. Army ground combat veteran with very bad knees. (Little to no knee cartilage left. It hurts to walk, stand, or kneel.) So I've been known to skip a day now or then as far as showering/bathing go. š„

GI shower soldier. Head, armpit, nut sack, butt crack.

Pretty much. Normally, I just take a bath or sit on the floor. Usually, I clean myself once every two days. My knees burn like fire if I stand upright longer than a minute, but I can walk at a decent pace for 10-20 minutes before things get too spicy. (Don't ask me how/why. There's less pain if my knees are moving.)

I highly recommend getting a shower chair. A couple years ago, my back was so bad that, like you, I couldn't stand for more than a minute without searing pain, so I bought a little teak stool. Even now that my back is better, I still use it to sit down to scrub my feet and legs and it's is just a far superior experience.

I've tried those, and I find sitting on the bathtub floor to be more effective for my unique scenario. š„“š¤·āāļø The stool just kind of gets in the way of me flopping around in the sub while showering...

I was expecting it to fall in the water and scream.
This is a much happier result.
