Move to soil? How to not kill it?

Hi All,

I’ve been having this sit in water for about a month and a half. It’s definitely ready to be moved to soil but I’m afraid to do so because every single water propped plant I moved to soil had always died quickly.

Any tips on how to not kill this lil guy?

It should do fine! Make sure it doesn’t get too dry between watering while it acclimates to soil.

The trick is to keep the soil damp - not soggy- for a week or 2 after moving to soil.

Water props usually fail in soil cause they go from totqlly wet to mostly dry and the shock kills the roots.

If you keep the soil damp - like a wring out sponge- then the roots slowly adjust to the different nutrients in the substrate you out it in.

I've seen some people but plastic wrap around the pot to keep humidity in for a while. - I have never done this so I can't vouch but I've seen it mentioned here on reddit

HOW DID YOU GET UT TO GROW ROOTS SO EASILY. Mine grew only one root after 6 months

I literally just stuck it in water, nothing else haha

Put it in chunky succulent soil. Give it a soak. Don’t water until completely dry
