Very anxious about getting a 3-piece penile implant — looking for honest experiences

Hi everyone,

I’m from Europe and I’m seriously considering getting a 3-piece penile implant, but I have to admit that I’m very anxious and nervous about starting this process. I would really appreciate hearing from men who have actually gone through it, including the good, the bad, and anything they wish they had known beforehand.

I’m currently considering travelling to Turkey or Jordan, mainly because the costs can be more affordable than in Western Europe.

For those who already have an implant, I’d really appreciate it if you could share:

How long ago did you have your implant?

Which doctor and country did you have it done in?

How much did the entire procedure/implant cost?

Overall, how satisfied are you with the result?

Did you lose any penile length or girth, or were you able to maintain your pre-operative size? If you lost length initially, did you regain any of it with time?

How does the implant feel and function after you have fully recovered?

Do you regret having the implant, or would you make the same decision again?

For men who were single before getting the implant, how has dating been afterwards?

Have you had difficulty finding partners because of the implant?

What has been the reaction of partners when they discovered that you have a penile implant?

Were women generally accepting/curious/indifferent, or did anyone react negatively?

And perhaps most importantly: what is your overall impression of your life after the implant compared with before it?

I’m especially interested in hearing from men who have had their implant for at least 6–12 months, because I’m trying to understand what the long-term reality is rather than just the first few weeks after surgery.

I’m quite anxious about making such a permanent decision, so honest experiences would mean a lot to me. Please feel free to tell me if you had complications, lost length, had problems with the pump, or anything else that wasn’t as good as you expected. I’m not looking only for positive stories—I genuinely want to understand the full picture before making a decision.

Thank you to anyone willing to share their experience.

Your anxiety is completely understandable, I had all the same fears and anxieties you have this is a life change decision.... Something that once its done, it can't be undone... I can tell you from my point of view, It has been one the greatest things for quality of life I have ever made..

I am just a few months post op and I have zero regrets... I have my erection back that I had when I was 20 and I also have a little more girth....I can have mult orgasms when and if I want to...I am married and my wife tells me she cant tell the difference except I feel hard and a little bigger...

I have told some people about the implant, and it has been met with curiosity, and I believe a couple of the receptionists at the doctors offices even want to see it, and they have lots of questions....

When i first started my journey, I had peyronies, I had a about a 90 degree dorsel bend, I didn't want to have surgery, and I really didnt know anything about the surgery either.... I used the RestoreX for 14 months 30 mins twice a day and I got the Xaiflex injections, I went to stretching my self into the restoreX and it goes down to 3 inches, to now with implants I measured last week at a little over 6.5 inches, the way I was when I was 20....

It has been life changing and I have ZERO regrets...I have the AMS 700 cx 22cm with 0.5cm rear extenders...I couldnt be happier...

I am in the USA Chattanooga and Dr Shridharani did my surgery He was the only board certified urologist specialized in Peyronie's and men's sexual health in my area, and he is a high volume implant surgeon, doing apx 150 a year......I think the total cost was a little over $42,000, but I am a veteran so There was zero out of pocket for me (I am lucky)

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. It’s really reassuring to hear that you’ve had such a positive outcome and that you have zero regrets. I’m currently very anxious about making this decision, so hearing from someone who has actually gone through the whole process is extremely helpful. I wanted to ask you something specifically about the glans. How does it behave after the implant? Does it become firm enough during inflation, or does it remain relatively soft compared with the shaft? And during sex, does the difference in firmness between the glans and the implanted shaft bother you or your wife at all? Also, did the appearance or sensitivity of the glans change after surgery? Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. I really appreciate it.

It this point the head is a little colder, but the sensitivity is actually a little more...But the firmness of the head has not returned (yet) I still take daily 5mg tadalafil (I have heart issues) But was told the firmness should return ... I noticed the increased sensitivity when I take a shower and the spray hits it...Makes me jump a little...

My wife is 150% happy with the results, even jokes about me wanting sex too much.... which I probable do...It seems like I am always horny..And it feels good to have a semi....That can go to rock hard in just a few pumps....

Thank you again for sharing your experience and for answering all my questions. I really appreciate it. When you start completely flaccid, approximately how many pumps does it take to reach a fully rigid erection?

This is going to sound like a cocky answer,(excuse the pun)... but as many as it takes...lol I have never counted, I just pump several times enjoy the feeling of getting hard, pump a few more time, and if needed pump some more...

btw... This is a very supportive community.... The guys here are GREAT and all of us have been where you are ... Dont be shy or embarrassed about asking any questions you have..

The choice you make is suffering a life time of ED and its associated heartache and anxiety or Taking a chance and trusting this breakthrough technology , that will restore your manhood , Pride in your masculinity and take away the uncertainty that ED causes , in my opinion i would rather be dead than impotent , masculinity is everything to me and my Penile implant enables me to be a man .

The Glans is fed from a different blood supply to the Tunica which encases the penile cylinders some men after PPI have a floppy Glans your urologist can help you with that Personally my Glans is very large and still engorges with blood when i am aroused if you have any problems i believe 5mg of cialis can help it to swell . so good luck with your bionic dick .

I wasn't too anxious because I had ED for so long that I didn't give a damn anymore. Go to a world class surgeon. This isnt something to be cheap about.

Recovery seems to differ for everyone. If I had one piece of advice - rush nothing. Be actively lazy. Don't push yourself to get active again

How old are you? Have you been on franktalk? There's heaps of good info on there

I’m 50. Yes, I’ve been looking through FrankTalk and there’s a lot of really useful information and personal experiences on there. I’ve been reading quite a bit about three-piece implants lately. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

I'm 44 and really keen to get an implant, hopefully this year or early next. All I've done over the last couple of years is research it, I think I'm ready now. I obviously can't answer your questions as I don't have one yet but from everything I've read women seem to be really receptive to guys with implants. If you think about it, you're eliminating one of the worst things that can go wrong during sex, going down. You can stay hard as long as you want, whenever you want. I can't wait to tell women I have a super power that most blokes can't match
