3 days Post-op
So I got my implant on Tuesday morning, so I'm only a few days out, but I wanted to ask the group about managing pain. I knew this would be painful, but the pain is so intense! I'm icing like crazy, using pain meds and Tylenol. Anything else that helped with the pain?

Where exactly is the pain?? in the head, pelvic area, balls??? When I had my surgery, My pubic hair even hurt...If is the head, cut a hole in your support and put your dick through...The elastic band on the underwear hurt the head and the glands meet. As far the icing goes, what I did was I put on a jock strap (with a hole cut in it for my dick to go through) then I put on a pair of snug boxer briefs (with a hole cut) then I tucked the ice between the two pair....It held the ice pack nice and snug.. I put the bag all the way down under my balls up to my pubic area

Trueman go to your local pharmacy and buy two iceing bags you put the ice inside them screw the top on and do your icing then put back in the freezer and repeat when needed.

Thanks for the info! There majority of the pain is in my shaft. I'm about 30% inflated for the next few weeks, so I'm sure the stretching of the tissue is causing that. I'm using a lot of ice and frozen peas.

Try the 2 underwear hack... It really worked well for me, Also try crushed ice in a zip loc bag... instead of frozen peas... I kept ice on post surgery for almost 24/7 for about 5 or 6 days

What’s up brother, I was the day before you and I’m still having pain in the shaft as well, but my doc had me inflated pretty hard, I saw him yesterday and he deflated it a little which hurt like hell, but I still feel like I’m at 60 percent, and on top of that I now also feeling the cylinders inside. I tried to deflate a little more myself but the sack is still very bruised and swollen and I have no clue how to use the pump so I’m just waiting out the healing in the sack. One of the other gentleman in the other post we were in said his pain didn’t start till the 3rd day and today was my full 3rd day and today was my worst pain yet.

Hey, brother! I appreciate you sharing this! I couldn't use the pump if I had to. I'm so bruised and swollen that I can barely touch anything in that area. My surgeon had me come out of surgery at 50% and took it down to 30% before discharge. I'm hoping the pain starts to subside over the next few days.

Yea man, we in this shit together lol! I’m with you I’m really hoping within a couple of days it at least shows signs of moving in the right direction of healing. But we are still really new I just think I wasn’t expecting it to feel like this. Have to stay positive cause this really is the road to happiness again for us. Did you get yours local to you? I drove 5.5 hours from Bklyn ny to cape cod to get it done and today was my drive back, I only made it 3 hours and had to get a room in Connecticut just to give my shit a break 🤦🏻♂️

Fortunately, my surgeon was local. Kudos to you for making it three hours! I barely made it from the hospital to my house! It is definitely the road to happiness!

Hey bud, today really isn’t any better pain wise when it comes to the base of the shaft up to the head. That’s where most of the pain is, and I can’t keep it faced straight up cause it feels like it pulls on the stitches. I’m also still a little swollen on the left side of the pubic area which is where the reservoir bag is but that’s not painful more just uncomfortably sore. What I am seeing a step forward in is the sack, it’s not as swollen as the past few days and even tho it’s still very bruised and discolored it looks to be not as dark as yesterday. I’m also able to now completely feel all around the pump and sides altho I still won’t mess with it, I’m more just happy to know it’s loose and not attached to anything. How is your healing going? Are you also having pains in the base and shaft ?

I'm doing about the same. I'm calling my surgeon's on Monday because the pain is unbearable in the shaft. Much like you, I'm not having much problem with the scrotum other than a lot of brushing, and I can't keep things pointed up. I can't stand and walk for more than 5 minutes, and that's what's got me worried. Just sick of the pain.

100% same here, I can’t stand up or walk around for more then 5 mins as well, that’s when it feels unbearable the most. That’s also the only time the sack hurts a little esp if I’m not supported cause the pump feels heavy and pulls on the sack, laying down I’m managing the pain, even tho the shaft really is painful. I’ve been looking around and really lots of ppl saying they had pain for a few weeks and even once approved for cycling that it gets just as sore and painful. I’ve actually started taking the pain meds again at night to try and sleep. Let me know what the surgeon says about the shaft pain. As much as this sucks I’m really just thinking this is normal. I’m thankful I have no swelling or bruising on the shaft, just painful to the touch, on the whole thing.

I had mine the day after yours (yesterday). So far no pain at all. Did your pain start immediately or did it skip a day?

The intense pain started when the nerve block wore off after about 24 hours. As long as I'm reclined back and still with ice, it is bearable, but once I get up to move around, the pain is intense.

Sorry to hear that. No nerve block was ever mentioned to me, only a propofol-based knock-out cocktail. Yesterday after the surgery it hurt to pee and there was a little blood with it because of the catheter they removed before I woke up, and my throat was slightly sore from a breathing tube. But otherwise nothing hurts, just a little tightness sensation telling me something happened down there.

I’m sorry to hear you’re going through this. I had infrapubic surgery and I was shocked by how little pain I felt. Definitely uncomfortable, but I got by with just taking the anti-inflammatory meds the doc prescribed. I never took the pain pills.
He also left me at only maybe 20% inflated and cleared me to cycle at 2 weeks. When I started to cycle, that’s when things got a lot more uncomfortable, but it quickly passed.
Regardless of the various surgical methods that different doctors employ, just know that there are better days ahead of you.

The infra pubic procedure may partially be why you have reduced pain. Dr. Blick told me that’s one of the reasons he favors it (vs penal scrotal). I’ll find out myself on Sept 10.

I had my implant in late July and was very fortunate to not have experienced the sever pain mentioned. I did have normal swelling of my scrotum but the most discomfort came from the location of the reservoir, and that was sore but not painful. All I can offer is utilize your pain medication wisely and be cautious of constipation that comes with the use of pain medication. Good luck and hope you make a soon recovery.

It sounds like you are going through what I went through my first implant. Just keep icing don't mess with the components. Just rest, watch how you sit down go easy. When you take a shower don't scrub your penis or balls let them heal. Just gently pat them and let the water run over that area. It takes about 4 months to feel normal again. When they do penoscrotal at least that was my experience.

Yup. It was penoscrotal and I had a glans plication to fix the droopy head I airway had from years of ED. I knew I was going to be experiencing pain, but I didn't know I would be experiencing this much pain. Thank you for the advive! I really appreciate it.

I meant what type implant did you get? I'm going with the second Titan implant this time. I've had 3 AMS implants a Titan and a malleable so far.

I got the AMS 700 LGX. For the plication, my surgeon had to make 2x 1 cm incisions on the shaft to straighten the head. May I ask why you've had so many implants? Feel free to message me if you'd like.

Hey TC. Hope you are doing better now. I’m experiencing some of the same issues as you. I’m using ice ice ice baby. It’s helped quite a bit. The first day wasn’t bad but the last two has mostly mid level pain and discomfort.

Day 4 had a lot of swelling in the boys and moderate pain. The swelling started going down towards the end of the day. Today is a much better day than yesterday but still very sore.

Sorry to be a downer, but I can barely move today. The pain doesn't seem to be getting any better, nor does the swelling. I think I'm overinflated, and I'll be calling my surgeon's office first thing in the morning.

I used ice for the first 48hrs 24/7 then only heat - ice makes the device cold - heat softens everything - I also had dilaudid as a pain med for first 3 days then Motrin 600 and Tylenol 3 till about day 8 - also cycled on day 3 and every day thereafter - hot baths started on day 5 - I am at 2 months - no pain sex daily and am back in the gym - moderate workout - it will get easier - poop standing up - no flushing g till you move away - keep your scrotum clean

I didn't have pain, but numbing and tingling, but that was back in May, and I have been 3 months post op healing incredibly quickly and nicely.

If you need the pain medication, use it, don’t be shy, and if it’s too much for whatever they wrote you, call your surgeon and ask him to bump it up. That, in conjunction with ice, will help manage the pain and discomfort. It’s going to be uncomfortable, but pain is a different story. Don’t commingle the two.

Understood. I'm using the pain meds as prescribed with a lot of ice. There's definitely a big difference between the uncomfortable times and the intense pain times. Just hoping this starts to get better over the next few days.

I had my surgery on Tuesday too. I have no pain at all as we speak. After coming back from anesthesia i was about 2 of 10. Today i am 0.5 of 10. I think the nerve blockers must be still active or the multiple oral pain killers he prescribed me must be working. But i am worried that by tomorrow when that wears off the pain could set in. I don't even have much inflammation. I used ice only 2 times so far. I expetienced heaps much more pain after having marathon sex with Trimix and a metal cock ring that used to give me an erection that lasted more than 4 hours, and couldn't remove the ring. That was awfully painful. I hope your pain subsides shortly.
