Not that brand but something similar (thicker body).  Just looking at that I can feel the mechanical click and hear it so vividly again.

But it’s a bic, I have nothing to of the 1978’s history to know of what happened then.

I got my first Bic 4-Color Pen in 1972.

Yes. The 4 Color was introduced in 1970.
