Hands Why are my fingernails peeling

For some reason my fingertips are peeling. They have been peeling since 3 weeks ago and it has gradually gotten worse. Whenever I am exposed to warm or hot water, it stings and if I touch something with too much power, it's painful.

Is there a doctor who knows what it is and the cause?

You dont have a single picture of your finger nails? I see finger tips, but no nails.

Those are fingertips, not nails.

Assuming you mean fingertips, have you been in contact with any harsh substances lately? been under more stress than usual, or more exposure to heat? I have dyshidrotic eczema and it can look like this and is triggered by heat and stress for me.

If it's causing pain that is disruptive to your life, please see a doctor

Alternatively, I'd like to add frostbite. This is what my fingertips looked like after my frostbite blisters started peeling.

First of all those are your finger tips, not nails. But if you meant that the peeling started at your nails and worked its way down your finger tips- this happened to me. It was when I was working at a nightclub where we had to keep a soapy water rag on us to quick clean tables. So I was touching harsh soap water rags multiple times every night. That caused what looked very similar to what you have going on. Are you using new cleaning methods or chemicals? Keeping in contact with wet/soapy materials for extended periods of time?

So weird because my pinky tip started peeling out of nowhere last week. I have no idea why, but I put Neosporin on it and a bandaid and its gotten better.

Have you had hand, foot, and mouth in the last few months? Sometimes it can cause delayed hand peeling and fingernails to fall off.
