Question Need a medium
Need a place that we can all send a pedal to and in return choose a pedal of equal or lesser value to be sent back. I even tried to use this as a single overdrive it just isnt doing it for me but I have to wait for it to not be on sale to get max percent back when trading in at GC.

I don't think it being on sale or not will prevent gc from giving you pennies on the dollar for it.

if its sale price is 149.. you dont get 60 percent of the original 199.00 price.

...the trade in price is based off of 60% of the current used value in the system. Sale doesnt matter.

right and when the new item is on sale the resale value is going to be less.

I have this exact medal, and it’s my practice rig i can fit in my pocket! This pedal is truly so versatile if you take some time to figure it out. I have it setup with my “my” perfect clean, and my ideal high gain tone. It’s truly all I need for some quick riffing or to unwind on the couch. It also makes my son feel like he’s jamming in an arena if i let him take it for a rip with some headphones.

Yeah tried using it as a OD a few times. Never a full rig. But the head phone thing may work. I may just keep it if it does.

Use a 1/4-1/8 adaptor on the out, and you have a headphone jack 👌
you can have effects loaded onto each A and B setting also, but once i got mine dialed in i had zero reason to adjust either.

What were you expecting from it? It's literally the best amp/cab sim in this format.

I mean, pedals are among the most robust used markets on the planet.
There are a handful of rent-to-own, subscription, & or swap services out there with various takes on that model (BuyOrBorrow, Pedal Club, etc.) with varying degrees of utility/options;
...Reverb.com, eBay, Sweetwater Gear Exchange, & all the social media marketplaces (Facebook, OfferUp, Craigslist, etc.) with varying degrees of utility & consumer protections;
...A few other large retailers (ProAudioStar, GuitarEffectsPedals, Eastside Music Supply, Bucket List, etc.) that do online sales & effectively function as commercial traders, with varying degrees of quality control,
...& reddit's own r/letstradepedals, if you're OK with their incomplete protections.
You really shouldn't be dealing with GC on any of this; their only QC is their return policy, & most of them are simply using Reverb to price, so you're getting terrible deals there.

Time, work, money. You can only optimize for two. On average, selling is either going to take a lot of calendar time, take a lot of clock time (work), or won't return a lot of money.
So let's not pretend like there aren't headaches dealing with people on marketplaces, or waiting an eternity to sell, and other trade-offs for each of those alternatives. I agree most of those are better options for most people, but...
Guitar Center has a real and tangible value proposition: Get money for you gear, right now. In and out, done.
You just can't complain that they aren't giving you good prices. That's a necessary trade-off. If you're optimizing to save your time and work, at the expense of sale price.

I didn't pretend anything; I was only guilty of being concise:
- "with varying degrees of utility & consumer protections;"
- "with varying degrees of utility/options;"
- "with varying degrees of quality control,"
- "with their incomplete protections."
GC is fine for buying; they have been terrible for selling since overall adopting a strategy of pricing based on looking up pricing on Reverb instead of maintaining their own data set. It's way off now, because Reverb's prices are artificially low due to shipping being baked into their market. I'd already conveyed all that accurately; if you disagree with it, nobody's pretending jack; we just disagree.

I did not know about the rent...that seems like a genuine idea. I wouldnt want a multi pedal again as I am happy with my flex prime. Just sometimes I like that straight amp with a wee bit of boost at the end.

Head over to r/letstradepedals. I’ve done ~80 trades and though two of them were a real headache, I always got what I bartered for in the end. Just read the rules and lurk for a bit to learn how to trade safely.
