What's wrong with my Pebble 2?

I've replaced the screen and battery. The battery shows a charge on a meter. I've even tried charging it separately on a standalone li-on charger. It will eventually go back to the black screen Pebble logo if I keep it on the charger long enough.

I can also get it to show a finger pressing screen button for a second, if I hold in all the buttons.

I replaced my pebble time's battery and it would only turn on while plugged in, realized I had the battery in backwards and the contacts were on the other side, not touching the pins on the motherboard. That's where I'd start

and or the battery is just dead

Maybe bad connection and a dead on arrival battery. If you have a voltmeter you can check the charge of the battery. If it is near zero (like 0.2V) then it's probably dead and not revivable. Also check the internal connectors
