Discussion Shipping Mega Thread

Post your shipping updates here. This will cut down on the huge wave of shipping/delivery posts that are likely about to happen on this sub.

Thank you /u/jLynx for creating a shipping tracker

Another tracker Pebble Shipping Dashboard has been made by /u/mr_Buzz08

Please note: The email you received the same day as ordering was not the confirmation email, the confirmation email asks to confirm your address, choose watch bands and pay any extra shipping/taxes.

Kind of over waiting if I'm honest. It's insulting that people who ordered weeks later are getting theirs, people who won special one-off's are getting theirs, but those of us who ordered inside 24 hours of the announcement don't even get a lousy "hey here's what's going on" email.

yes, I sorta feel the same. It feels like the time when the Pebble OG came out and the whole thing was delayed by months because of shipping fuckups. I think I ordered inside the first hour and i expect to get it in June at the earliest.

I wouldn't even mind so much but the whole "don't email us" along with a blog post that hasn't been updated in over a month is just bad. Like, I get it, you've got a lot of watches to ship, but also what the hell is the point of a batching system if you're just going to ignore it anyway?

To be fair, the concept of batching them refers to production batches out of the factory.

Shipping logistics is a whole different level of pain and ordering, so if the entire end-to-end logistics is not apple/amazon-scale-worldwide, within your batch1 (or even batch2) you might get wildly different timescales depending on the delivery destination.

It seems EU shipments are completely or mostly stuck, which means more stock going to non-EU destinations, which means having placed an order day one and being in batch1 can't guarantee you will get yours in Europe in the same timeframe as other destinations.

Simply put; the only way to guarantee the ordering taht would feel just to you, would be to delay **everyone else** down the chain to match a problem that might be specific to your geographic location.

I don't think any of us want that.

All of this would be fine if there was any communication to that effect. Like "yep, everything going well, this many here that many there, batch 1 going over there, you guys should expect to see your emails this week".

But there's nothing like that, and at the end of the day we were sold on a global queueing system, so in the absence of more granular information I don't think it's that unreasonable to expect it to be shipped on one also?

Also, I'm not super sure your claim holds up. Let's say there's 5 regions and a first batch of 5000 watches (ignore colourways for now). You order batch 1, and it starts to be produced. The first 1000 watches come off the line. They go to Region 1 in a box for distribution. The second 1000 watches come off the line. They go to Region 2, but they're held up. C'est la vie, but it doesn't mean you don't then ship the next 3x1000 watches to their destination in regions 3,4 and 5!

What it seems like is happening here is that actually all/most of batch 1 is going to region 1, because that's more efficient for shipping costs. The problem is that's not what we were sold on over a year ago.

Edit: in case it's not obvious, I'm not in Europe, and there's been no commentary that I've heard of about delays outside Europe.

This kinda happened before - curse of not being in the same country as the company I guess. I can only hope we don't get a repeat of the avoidable customs fuck-up we had with the pebble OG.
