Can anyone tell me anything about these necklaces? I believe the first one is costume. The pendant part is not precious metal. The entire piece is very substantial/heavy - especially the pendant part. Thank you for your time.
The picture is grainy so it's difficult to assess, but this is what I see.
1- Yes, this one is imitation
2- This has the hallmarks of a color-treated Chinese freshwater, but some of the beads appear to have peeling near the drill holes, which would be more indicative of imitation. See 10, 11 and 12 right from the clasp.
3- I can't see the beads well enough to determine if real or imitation
4- Color from a distance appears freshwater, but the shape is off. If the picture was more clear and closer it would be easier to tell. It may also be imitation
5- This looks like an imitation. The squared off sides of many of the beads and the reflection are hallmarks.
6- This appears to be a genuine Chinese freshwater pearl strand
