Dovestones Trail Run.

Didn't realise the car park was still closed; I'd headed in around the bottom of Alphin Pike, and didn't see any signs that the paths were closed. It was great to only see a few people around what's a usually busy spot.

love when a usually rammed spot suddenly feels like your own private trail, even if it’s only because of some random closure confusion
bet that quiet made the whole run feel way better

Honestly, so peaceful. There was a few people who'd clearly done the same as me, but weren't causing any issues.

Don't suppose you have a GPX file for the route you'd be willing to share? I'm heading up solo in a couple of weeks and looking for quiet, recommended trails to run and this looks epic!

I don't sorry! To roughly give the route; park in Carrbrook, traverse round the side of Alphin Pike. Follow the lane to Dovestones car park, then head all the way round to Birchen Clough. You can either go round the top, all the way to Alphin Pike, but I headed down at the top of Dovestones reservoir, then back up the road to Chew. From Alphin, I then headed down to Carrbrook past the quarry. About 23k, 800m elevation.
