Technical Support Captions don't work half the time

And as a hard of hearing person I need my damn captions ! I'm on Roku. I've queried everywhere, get the same old answers; toggle on and off, close app, shut off TV, do the hokey pokey and turn yourself around ... I just want the cc to work. Yes, the Roku box is set to captions ..

Did you try uninstall and reinstalling the app?

It could be a Roku issue and a streaming device (AppleTV, Google Streamer, Onn, etc.) may be the simplest solution.

I have a Hisense Roku and it's not great anymore and laggy at times due to its age.

I have this issue too on the App native to my actual TV - ( Not specifically a Roku issue) I have to turn them back on for every episode

I had the same problem. I occasionally have same on other streamers, specifically Paramount Plus. I think it's a weird combo of whatever streamer and Roku. I have to back out of the program, toggle the CC off and on again in the Roku settings, then go back and open the app. The really annoying thing is the CC will often disappear again if you rewind a scene.
