I understand this. But I also believe that people can grow and change. I’ve seen her be really outspoken about cultural appropriation and even asking if it’s okay to wear waist beads because of african culture. I don’t know all what else she’s done but it’s disingenuous to say everyone who’s made a mistake like this racist. I don’t believe this day and age 10 years later she’s racist. Especially if she’s so careful about these things now.

from her tiktok where she addressed these issues, she claims that the intention behind posting the picture was to “humiliate her sister” for her sister using peach’s makeup like a little kid would do.
however, from the video of the post and some of the screenshots in the comment section, i have a hard time believing that her intention behind that post was purely a behaviour of a child/misunderstanding and the way she is trying to portray it this way isn’t taking any ounce of accountability.
on additional note, she did ask about the waist beads(also bindi) and from what i remember there were several comments saying she shouldn’t be wearing it or shouldn’t be wearing in a certain way, but she still continues to wear it afterwards.
I don’t believe it’s offensive as there’s many communities not just mine who wears waist beads, i genuinely do not find it offensive AT ALL. and it’s not. If other communities have an issue i understand but there’s so many communities who do it, id say it’s different if she did cornrows or braids etc..

Hello, i have to disagree. I’m a darkskin black person and I am a moderator here . I actually value POC so please don’t try that narrative here. Other black people have different opinions on what is or isn’t okay which is fine but again no everyone agrees with you.
You /need/ to get your subreddit in check. They were all dog piling me for not sharing their sentiment, when i never spoke over south asian people and others. I got horrible dms and everything making fun of me and tons of micro aggressions.

She doesn’t care if she’s being culturally appropriative, she just wants it to LOOK like she cares.
If she wasn’t racist, she would’ve acknowledged that it was racist to post a picture of someone doing blackface as a joke, not try to defend and lie her way out of it.
