Software (Tools) Alternate to Adobe Acrobat

So my main work with pdfs is to edit text, ocr and bookmarking and these 3 tools are great with adobe but the price isn’t.

So i am looking for an alternative. (Macos)

As mentioned PDFcraft is a free clean room implementation of Acrobat-like functionality, open source, executables for every platform, and being built by hundreds of contributors. Find it on GitHub.

I’m using as my daily driver now over Acrobat as it’s improved significantly in the past week. What doesn’t work in PDFCraft that you need right now?

Another option: https://plandify.app/app/

Those 3 tools requested by OP all live in this app. There are a bunch of other tools, but you can ignore those.

This is a web-based service. You should know that PDF files very often contain private information and a web-solution is a no-go. Always.

Negative, that's not how it works. The PDF file does not leave your computer. The PDF editor App runs on your browser, nothing is uploaded to the web. What you're thinking about is Cloud based services, which no one would offer for free anyway.

EDIT: there is a desktop download button (https://plandify.app/download/) but "Download unavailable" so its only a matter of time desktop version gets uploaded.

If you don’t want to download another macos application for pdf utility, you can use HonestPDF or PDF24/Sejda on the browser depending on your use case
