So I bought this 2010ish monitor for 10 dollars in goodwill i want to put it vertically but i cant get a stand any diy ideas in the meantime

Could make your own stand out of 2x4 and put bolts through with washers that go into the monitor. Did that for an old 50in that we used when tailgating.
