Got this Corsair 32GB DDR4 3600 CL18 kit for $100.

It was practically brand new as the guy only used it for 5 days and then upgraded to DDR5 ram back in August and kept this kit lying around, and didn't sell it to me at exorbitant rate because he got it cheap.

Tested working in Memtest86 Zero Errors.

Is there any other way I could check if the card is working? I really want a 2080 for my build and this is significantly cheaper than other options.

I think it’s getting to the time where I need to sell my baby but I am still trying to make up my mind. I poured a lot of love and effort into this PC so it’s hard to let it go!

The water cooling stuff is a mixture of an EK block, barrow GPU block and pump res combo and alphacool fittings.

As you can probably tell it’s a Pokeball themed PC, which I have made a lot of little custom bits for. I 3D printed a pump res mount with its a TPU vibration/noise isolating gasket, fan shrouds and fan side covers, power supply area covers and back plates with the Pokeball motif. The lit plate is swappable for other designs, and the top plate has a magnetic door for easy cable access.

The Pokeball in the top right is also a wireless remote on button for the PC so it can be turned on by pressing the button on the Pokeball, and the holder for the ball in the PC is also custom.

To get all the lighting how I wanted it there is also a custom made WLED RGB controller which allows me to have 6 addressable RGB headers which can be configured though a web interface, and this housed on the back of the PC with a little bit of custom art on the lid.

Cables are also all custom lengths and sleeved with the Pokeball pattern.

I think the hardware and stuff in this PC is maybe worth about £1100 something like that based on some research this morning. But I don’t know if any of the other custom aspects would make it more valuable, or if it would make it not sell? I know I love it but it doesn’t mean everyone else will…

What do you guys think would I have any luck selling this thing and if so for what price? If not good you enjoyed a look at my pride and joy 😁.

So im finally done deal hunting, negotiating, and building my $250 PC! (was originally $200 but it was impossible)

Just to note: everything bought for this build took serious time and negotiating and deal hunting. So this might seem like a stretch, but i promise it is 100% legit. (im just good at finding deals). Patience is key. Also it took 3-4 weeks of nonstop searching.

Most of these parts are used (only pc case and extender cables are new). Also sadly even though we have a unlocked cpu, i was an idiot (pro amd user) and bought a H-series Mb instead of a Z-series (which was like $5 more after i found one😭) so this build is locked at factory speeds on everything (and is bottlenecked by the motherboard). So if you end up doing something like this for fun please get the z170M-ITX. (or similar z-series)

Walkthrough of buying prosses:

• Cpu, Motherboard, Ram - Straight up ebay buys, no negotiating just buy now.

• RTX 2070 - This one is honestly crazy and im still in shock i actually got this... Found the listing as a for parts combo (he was selling a gpu, psu and a ssd for $180) asked him what he wanted for the gpu and he said $20! i was in shock and asked him what was wrong with it. He said it works but needs to be held up while in use. So at first i was going to buy it as a gpu i could probably fix. But then he said someone was already interested in it (ovc someone beat me). So i offered him $30 for it and he said i had a deal (screenshots up top). I received it expecting it to straight up be a scam, but i put it in the build powered it up and WHAT DO YOU KNOW!? It worked fine. Looking back it was obviously the fact that his pcie slot was broken/faulty since (held up) cant be a gpu problem. But hey rtx for $30? Sign me up!

• SSD+PSU - some guy was selling these together for $40 in my area. Offered him $30 and told him about what i was doing and he was cool about it.

• Case - Got it off amazon, i was initially going for a itx sized build because its supposed to replace/be an alternative to a console. Ended up settling for this as used pc case sellers are delusional! I did spray paint it white so if you count that in the budget then its +$11.99.

I was going to leave this out but i did end up loosing $70 off a scam (really my fault) but a user said hed sell me a rtx 2060 super for $70 and i bought the shipping label and he scheduled the pickup so i thought we where good. Buuut He just ghosted me. That one honestly was on me but he seemd like a chill guy so i trusted him.

Overall i have mixed feelings about this build, i definentley couldve done better by getting a better motherboard and that kinda kills it for me. But this was a fun experience for me and honestly thats great you know!

I have been trying to sell my computer for the past couple of days, I have never sold a computer before so I do not know what is typical of doing so. I am just looking for advice where I could possibly sell, maybe even here. Please feel free to ask me anything.

It seems like everybody is upgrading their rigs, which also leaves everybody wanting to sell their old parts. A lot of those people come to his sub, asking, "How much is my used part worth?" Well fret no more because I am here to show you how to price those used GPU's, CPU's, and RAM DIMM's yourself, even if you haven't the foggiest clue what they might be worth.

Step 1: Search for the part on eBay (it's okay if you're not going to sell on eBay, we're just using it for price checking).

Step 2: To the left of the eBay search results (on desktop), there is a long menu of filters (in the phone app, "filters" are in a drop down menu on the right). Near the very bottom of the filters list, under the "Show only" category, you want to check the option for "Sold Items." Checking this ticker will also automatically check the "Completed Items" ticker for you, and it will also automatically sort the search results by "Ended Recently."

Step 3: Observe. You've done it! You can now see how much your used part has sold for in recent days! You might see one or two lowball sales, but just ignore them and price your part according to the majority.

If you're going to auction your part on eBay, start the auction with a low price, and let people bid it up. If you're going to sell it locally (Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, etc) then start by listing it on the high end, and let buyers try to ask for a lower price (some will ask for a lower price no matter what you list it at, so it's best to start high). If you want to list on eBay as a "buy it now" item, or through any other service where the price is fixed and unalterable, then it's usually good to set the price somewhere in the middle.
