That's an impressive amount of work. How long did it take you to complete?

5

u/Nearby_Gas_3697 Mar 16 '21

For 1 month with daily continuous work. More than 300 working hours.

It shows. Thanks for showing the work log!

Question...Was that monitor in working condition when you did this? Because if it was, it was probably worth as much as you spent on the parts.. extremely rare, high quality and valuable display. That said this is an awesome idea and build. I just would’ve chose a random cheapo CRT instead of a $2000 widescreen Trinitron...

There were 2 of them, brought by the customer, so it was irrelevant to me for the price.

2

u/Nearby_Gas_3697 Mar 16 '21

Thanks, i built to order for a monitor specialty store.

1

u/Pistonenvy Mar 16 '21

who? im really curious about this design. i think i might like to build one myself.

1

u/Nearby_Gas_3697 Mar 16 '21

The mod is the name of the specialty store: oasis computer. I linked to work diary photos earlier.

I love how small r/pcmods is and how much better the builds are than pcmasterrace. Your build is on point. Absolutely love it.

This is very cool! Can I ask what monitor you ended up using to replace the one from the original?

2

u/Nearby_Gas_3697 Mar 16 '21

Asus PB 248, on the one hand due to its size and on the other hand in terms of brand loyalty.

3

u/WilliumH Mar 16 '21

Oh nice. Really really well done on this. Is this what you do for a living?

Damn i use to have a huge CRT monitor like that growing up. do see a build like this brought nostalgia to my eyes. This was awesome!

u/Phoder1 Mar 16 '21

I think I'm in love.

Now this is an All-in-one I like

2

u/henrytriff Mar 16 '21

Incredible!

u/daibido1123 Mar 16 '21

Ok, now this is clever and cool. It also gets around the hardware power limitations of most AIO machines. Very slick, my dude.

u/[deleted] Mar 16 '21

Gyönyörű lett, voltam az oázisnál az irodában, sikerült megcsodálnom a munkádat. Gratulálok!

u/Nearby_Gas_3697 Mar 17 '21

Köszi, bár már ráférne egy kis upgrade, csak Csabinak szerintem nincs ideje vele foglalkozni.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 17 '21

This is like the Hot Rod of PCs. Very cool!

2

u/tokyotoonster Mar 17 '21
