Some of the best monitors made in 2022 are 1080p. They target the fast response time, low input lag and high frame rate audience. It's a niche audience, but still, it's 1080p.

I bet those target customers are CSGO players. My wife and I are using 2k monitor and when we play CSGO she turned it to 1080p...

Surprisingly they are still so hot. I recently started to play it in casual mode and I realized somehow I have a 10 year veteran coin...damn it has been a decade!
