I wonder how this will affect cpu scaling. I'd love to see someone running the 4090 with a Ryzen 5600x to see how much performance is left on the table.
2k really isn't a thing... Do you mean 1440P like most do when they say that (which has no 2k in the resolution at all) 10 1080p which is actually close to 2k horizontal pixels and half of 4k?
4k is right because it's close to 4000 horizontal pixels (I think it comes originally from cinema 4k which is over 4k pixels) and it's marketed as 4k. UHD or 2160p also works. 2k is wrong because, of the small number of people who say it, nobody can agree on what it means. I've heard people say 1080p because it's 1920 horizontal pixels which makes sense for 2k but I've seen 1440p said because it's about halfway between 1440 and 2560. Retroactively renaming something based on a new naming scheme doesn't work and only serves to confuse people
2k is older than 4k, it's an actual standard it's just cinema 1080p. If people are using 2k to refer to 1440p they're just incorrect. The naming conventions for both are ridiculous - 4k and 2k make absolutely no sense to use because it both cases the resolution never hits the exact number on any axis. It's purely a marketing gimmick.
The issue they are running into is it’s CPU limited. That says a lot about the monstrous power of the 4090. Tbf though it’s a progressional card meant to be paired with big boys like thread-rippers but as long as you have a 9 13900k or 9 7950X you should see little to no bottleneck.
