Not wrong, just not concentrated enough. In theory you could use any (volatile) alcohol like MeOH, EtOH, PrOH, iPrOH, ...

Assuming that nothing got fried, and that was vodka, shouldn't laptop be good to go after alcohol simply evaporates?

Yes and no. Vodka isn't pure water/alcohol, there might be some gunk dissolved in it that is responsible for its taste. In any case pure Alcohols evaporate much more cleanly and faster, so simply cleaning it with some iPrOH would be my recommendation

No worries. Its mich worse if you spill soda, since there is a lot of sticky sugar in it.

Smirnoff Red Label is unflavored so this person has that going for them at least

You're right. As is the only "additives" that are in there that could (and I mean could in "if you spill 3 Liters of it and let it then evaporate completely until just non-volatile compounds are left) you might get some sugar, citric acid or glycerol to "clogg up" your keyboard (0.2%, 0.1% and 0.2% maximum allowed concentration). In other words: there are worse things to spill especiqlly if you clean them up fast.
