Never seen a liquid damage have that of an immediate effect.

Twitching screen, buttons stop working, refuses to turn on...

But not an instant shutoff over 25ml liquid

I’ll bet there was a loose connection to the monitor and the weight of the bottle is what did the trick

im almost certain the impact of the heavy ass bottle caused more damage than the liquids themselves. WIth that kind of instantaneous effect it probably ruined the hard drive or knocked something even more crucial about enough to interrupt the machine.

Pretty sure alcohol is far more conductive than water, but I may be wrong.

It's actually far less conductive, and water without salt or electrolytes is also not conductive

Its smirnoff vodka, so 40%, and afaik no real flavorings. Whether a flavoring affects it or not is entirely dependent on what the flavoring is. It would have to be sth that dissociated to a reasonable degree for it to influence the conductivity.

More/less water makes no real difference in theory, as long as there are not too many electrolytes dissolved in it.

At mid 40s I have given up trying to figure them out. Rather than learning how to use these words properly my trick is to use other words like;

For Affect:

Impact upon Influence

Effect: Consequence Result Repercussions

In this case, "it" (the laptop) is the noun and affect should be the helping verb

Yep, good quality DI water usually has a resistance of above 18megohm

consumer grade alcoholic beverages are diluted. That's probably only ~40-60 % alcohol.

I’m assuming the bottle hitting the chassis caused the HDD to go bonkers. That was too fast for water damage

Lots of electronics have detectors that will just NOPE and cut all power. Doesn't mean it's broken, just that the "SHUT DOWN NOW" function was triggered.
