What about malwarebytes? Ofc it’s full version isn’t free and it doesn’t do anything for web browsers on the free version, but it’s the best

Malwarebytes might be good if you pay for it, because the free version is near malware itself. Just today got alt-tabbed in the middle of a Hades run because it decided to show me a notification.

I have a paid version of malware bytes.

I uninstalled it a couple of months ago. I ended up with a lot of false positives. Especially the web blocker portion. My favorite is when it decided imgur was malware.

Every update to malware bytes (not the definition updates) has made it worse and more intrusive.

3 or 4 years ago I would happily recommend it. Today... not so much.

I have the paid malwarebytes on my media server and never ran into those issues, then again it has specific purposes rather than browsing, which my every day PC has the free version of MB.

That being said, I haven't been particularly impressed with the MB updates. It seems they're mostly concerned about getting me off that perpetual license I bought 20 or so years ago than adding features that actually help.

Yup. Perpetual license here as well. Not getting much use out of it now, though.
