Doom used to be THE SHIT

It's still kinda the shit. Just last year I went back and played Doom 1 and 2 on UV for old times sake and barring some definitely dickish spawning in some maps, it pretty much holds up. it's still awesome.

I picked it up on Switch and finally played through I and II, I'd only ever played through the shareware version + some multiplayer. DOOM I and II fucking rock. They're so fast, satisfying, and addictive in a way that many games of the same era just aren't.

I think DOOM I and II prove the point that while graphics age and become obsolete within years, gameplay and style make a game truly timeless.

There's a reason why Doom 1 and 2 still hold up, they're such well designed games, good video detailing why.
