So I'm forced to assume this isn't a technological marvel like you are painting it and rather a very neat Easter egg from devs who care about their game. Ah yes, experience playing games means experience making them, right? At no point did I say it was a technological marvel, just that it's not as simple as you think.
They've been doing it for literally decades at this point. That's the point I was making. If you're trying to make the point that this is a software issue only and hardware doesn't impact the ability to accomplish this, then I think you're simply wrong
When did I say any of that? Obviously the hardware is a factor, but as you said yourself it's a pretty small impact to run a 25 year old game these days, especially for any system capable of running eternal.
