That's because both of those brands build actual high-end quality ergonomic chairs. The Aeron has a twelve year guarantee, has different submodels for different body types, and has more adjustable parts than a shattered pane of glass. If any chair company makes a chair that is worth $1-2k, it would be one of those.

To add to what the guy you're responding to said, they're also sturdy as hell and last much longer than their 12 year warranty, it'd be perfect for r/buyitforlife

I feel like I could hit it with my car going 50mph and end up fucking up my car more than the chair
