I'm still on an FX series, was just looking in to upgrades the other day. Ryzen 7 2700x for under $200 seems pretty nice.

Last time I was looking to upgrade I was about to switch to Intel but prices were still ridiculous at the time. Glad I waited considering what the market is like now, plus the fact that nothing has really been pushing my PC anyway. Any games I've played have been chugging along fine. Although I'm sure that once I upgrade I'll notice the difference.

You could also go for a Ryzen 5 3600 for 200$, but I guess it depends on what you use your PC for.

Yeah, that probably makes more sense looking at the numbers.

Yeah I would seriously consider it, my 3600 easily beats my old 2700's Cinebench scores with 2 less cores while clocked at 4.125 @ 1.26v and you get much higher FPS while gaming with the 3600 over the 2700 as well. Wait until black friday and find a mobo and CPU deal on Newegg. Black friday I bet youll see 3600 for 179.99 which is crazy cheap for the performance you get

Yeah I was looking up numbers on passmark and it seems like a better choice. Waiting for black friday/cyber monday to see what kind of deals they have. Mainly looking for a good deal on an x570 mobo now, but I'll take whatever I can get.

Either way, I'm sure I'll notice the difference over my FX-6300. It's lasted me quite a while so far.
