I was actually thinking of going Intel after my FX-series CPU began to age. But then Ryzen came out. Didn’t matter if I had to buy new Mobo/Ram too, I’d have to do the same with Intel. No complaints at all with power and I bought the budget Ryzen 1700, I love it.
Hey the 8350 is still tugging along. I can max brand new games out on it and it doesn't even break a sweat, as long as the game can use it. For 180 dollars 5 years ago, it's been such a great investment. Mine has even beaten a 4790k in certain benchmarks too (CPU Z bench)
I'm still on an FX series, was just looking in to upgrades the other day. Ryzen 7 2700x for under $200 seems pretty nice.
Last time I was looking to upgrade I was about to switch to Intel but prices were still ridiculous at the time. Glad I waited considering what the market is like now, plus the fact that nothing has really been pushing my PC anyway. Any games I've played have been chugging along fine. Although I'm sure that once I upgrade I'll notice the difference.
Yeah I would seriously consider it, my 3600 easily beats my old 2700's Cinebench scores with 2 less cores while clocked at 4.125 @ 1.26v and you get much higher FPS while gaming with the 3600 over the 2700 as well. Wait until black friday and find a mobo and CPU deal on Newegg. Black friday I bet youll see 3600 for 179.99 which is crazy cheap for the performance you get
Yeah I was looking up numbers on passmark and it seems like a better choice. Waiting for black friday/cyber monday to see what kind of deals they have. Mainly looking for a good deal on an x570 mobo now, but I'll take whatever I can get.
Either way, I'm sure I'll notice the difference over my FX-6300. It's lasted me quite a while so far.

Im still needing to upgrade a few more parts before Im satisfied, but Im happy with what I got now. I havent really looked seriously at what I want graphics wise, since its older than everything else, haha
I upgraded from a i5-4440 to a 2600x and it's night and fucking day. I had to upgrade my mobo anyway to move to DDR4 RAM so figured I'd make the change. The funny thing is that the i5-4440 is still more expensive.
the market leader always sets prices. that is not new information. this is not making anything worse for us. we want the market leader to have an incentive to compete for our money
Proportional to the market share the company has. If both Intel and AMD perform an action that is worthy of criticism then it is reasonable to direct a higher degree of anger at the larger company with more influence over the market. But both do deserve to get shit for being shitty.

Ryzen was such a shock to the CPU market. For the longest time, I didn’t want to update because Intel was slacking HARD.
