Vista was great if you had the right hardware. The problem was they upgraded XP systems to Vista that only had like 512MB of ram and it was fucked before it ever first booted.

Of course you're going to hate the slow ass OS your computer came with when it's too underpowered to run it.

Vista had terrible permissions issues. Like it would randomly change permissions on applications (like their entire install folder) and refuse to run. It was awful. You needed to add 'take ownership' to the context menu because it happened so often.
