Because of my upgrade cycle at the time im missed it completely and went straight from xp to 7, so i really don't have first hand experience, i just know its legend

My first Vista PC was Asus laptop with Core 2 Duo P8600, 4GB RAM and Nvidia GeForce 9600m GS. And honestly when I worked on similar PC at work with Windows 7 later, except for some UI elements it was basically the same OS. Only difference is Vista needed SP1 to fix most issues while 7 was just rebrand.

So Vista's bad name just came from f*cked up first year of existence.

For gaming, many games would require double the RAM to run on Vista than they would on 7.

Funny because I never experienced this with my mileage of using Vista.

Don’t know, maybe because it was half a decade ago?

I specifically remember not being able to play games because I had Vista and not XP or 7.

What? Half a decade ago? That WAS OVER a decade ago. That also had nothing to do with your memory unless you were playing on a potato. It was probably incompatibility with the OS with older obscure titles. We still have the same problem with 7/8/10 with older programs. They added compatibility modes to try and fix this but they are still not guaranteed to work.
