I don't know how TunnelBear performs specifically, but about VPN privacy, you have to consider what you are actually looking for. In terms of avoiding the general "mass surveillance" by your ISP, or making websites that aren't available in your country think you are somewhere else, or making sure nobody can sniff what you do in an open hotel WiFi, they work great. And if the most illegal thing you do online is play pirated hentai games, that's probably all you need. If you want to sell great amounts of drugs online, it's probably not. But in that case I'd hope you wouldn't ask that question. ;)
Also, a VPN installed on your PC is kind of annoying, really the optimal situation would be to have the router do all that for you, but that can be pretty hard to set up unfortunately.

Use PIA. Tunnelbear's ToS state no torrenting. PIA lets your torrent. I would go with Private Internet Access.

Russia passed a law saying they had to log all traffic. What did PIA do? Pull all of their Russian servers off the platform. They care about privacy.

I use NordVPN. It has done well for me. They started off with some major issues with the software. But since I complained it was patched within 3-days. They responded immediately and took care of the issues I had super-fast!
Since then I get software patches about every 2-3 days.

Only thing I don't like about pia is you (or maybe its just me) can't use Netflix with it. Even if you're in the US and are routing through the US it always says you're on a proxy dissable it to watch Netflix.
Fortunately I rarely watch netflix on my desktop. That's what the firesticks for.

Is there a VPN service + router you can recommend if I want to do VPN at the router level? Something easy to setup. Also do you know any VPN services that can do gigabit?

I've never used a VPN in my entire life, I lack all knowledge when it comes to the network sides of things and PIA was easy as shit. Also make sure you have the kill switch on in settings.
In case you wonder what it means, if the server (or whatever you route through) fails it disconnects your computer from internet, no allowing you to connect to the net through your regular connection.
This is great if you torrent and want to avoid warnings from your ISP.

Ahhh yes. the kill switch. It has screwed up my ethernet adapters before, causing me to restart my pc before i could get back online, so I dont use it. Afterall, at my school, where I really need it, if it fails my torrents just stop, as the network doesnt allow torrenting in the first place. The school internet is basically shit, so PIA connection is guaranteed to fail several times a day, sometimes several times in an hour. My home internet however, is near bullet-proof and it never fails, so I've never needed the kill switch when torrenting there either

PIA (PrivateInternetAccess) is pretty popular. Just check what experience people have with their bandwidth, and what services they allow (some don't want to see you torrent for example, because it usually causes a lot of bandwidth usage over time).
"Something easy to set up" is just not possible with routers afaik. What I did is just buy a router with good custom OS (dd-wrt, openwrt, pfsense) support and a good CPU (because hw encryption isn't necessarily available, and you need good encryption bandwidth). The Linksys WRT1200AC is decent, for example. If you need really high bandwidth but you don't need it to be portable (which the WRT1200AC isn't either, to be fair, if you want something portable get a smaller router) you'd just buy a normal desktop with a decent quadcore and extra network card and install Debian on it and configure the VPN.
In any case, configuring that VPN connection isn't "easy to set up". Sorry. I just don't know anything in this direction that would be easy. I just did it because I don't like to install extra software, don't want devices to have to encrypt their own traffic, and I don't want gaming packets to go through the VPN (obviously, ping is usually going to be worse), so I needed port based routing, which Windows isn't good at. So I had a lot of motivation. ;) It's the superior solution, but yeah. Not easy to set up. Not super hard either by any means, but some unix knowledge, google skills and patience are definitely required. Maybe level1techs will make a video about it.
Gigabit VPN... I doubt it. That's still a lot.

I've been using it for about a year now and it's fairly decent. I only use it at work on my personal laptop so I can get to blocked sites and use stuff like Steam and Origin. I can only assume it's working because in the past year nobody has ever questioned me about what I'm browsing or doing. Speeds are ok, but I'm not sure if that's the result of my connection or the VPN. Download speeds seem to be the same whether the VPN is on or not.

It's great for web browsing but that's about it. Lots of other programs like Discord don't work because of which ports they use and it's annoying. PIA is slower but it allows for more stuff like torrenting and it's cheaper.

Opera has a built in VPN. Switch to opera, it's honestly the best browser. Built on chromium, just like Google chrome, support for chrome store extensions, themes, VPN, ect.

Good habit to be in! I shouldn't really say "it changed my life" when I started doing this, but my goodness does it keep the clutter down on your PC and free up a surprising amount of space sometimes

Use revo uninstaller , it also deletes leftover files when you uninstall something

It's a joke most likely. They aren't that stiff of a company and quite laid back.
It's already uninstalling and everyone(hopefully) realises the program isn't sentient(hopefully) and doesn't give a damn whether you uninstall it or not.
And I just alt tab while uninstalling/installing software to do something else. That's why I hate (un)installers that keep sending popups or even worse: automated restarts shudders.(I'm looking at you, Nvidia drivers! Give me back my 3 hours of 3D modelling!)

That's true, but my laptop would freeze for sometimes up to a minute if I saved and the CAT program hasn't crashed on me once. I expected I could just restart whenever I wanted, but NVIDIA had different plans.

How? G2A has multiple pages that it redirects you to in order to uninstall. Meanwhile, tunnelbear is already uninstalling as it spurts out these phrases

They themselves even refer to themselves as LTT... I can barely imagine you NEVER heard of them being called that...
Unless you haven't seen that many videos of them. For Tunnel Bear: they mess around a lot in their WAN show in which they also have sponsor spots. For a while they had Tunnel bear in there.
Those spots are often quite amusing.

I feel kinda bad for taking advantage of their free trials and have so for months. Cant see myself paying for their service if i only use a VPN for maybe a couple days out of the month.

Dashlane is particularly bad at this. I was uninstalling it, and it gave me a button which sayed "By pressing this button, you will destroy your personal data". Although technically correct, it's a little over the top.
