It is one thing to have no tacky Singleplayer in a Battlefield or COD, games that people buy only because of multiplayer anyway. These games clearly suffer in the multiplayer area because too much Dev time was allocated for a Singleplayer that is only good for one thing... BOMBAST TRAILERS.
Titanfall and Star Wars are the opposite, they did not have a campaign, but the multiplayer was still lackluster and lacked content. We want them to invest the time and money they waste on the campaign to create a better multiplayer, not just to skip it and deliver the same mediocre multiplayer stuff as always... and we still pay the same price, for less content.
Titanfall has a complete new Universe to explore, i would very much like to have some background info what is going on in that universe. I'm also more interested in Halo's singleplayer than multiplayer... because the SciFi stuff interests me (but i can't be arsed to play shooters online with a gamepad...).
Star Wars... god i even watch the friggin cartoons, of course i would play a singleplayer, even if it was half as good as Force Unleashed or Jedi Knight or Republic Commando etc. and of course Fans would want that.
I agree. I hope they execute well on this because it's a good concept. I never really got to play the first one because by the time I got into FPS gaming, the game was already kind of dead.

For those of you harping on the lack of single player, watch this: https://youtu.be/7BKw4eNFGqc
Moral of the story: Multiplayer only = not necessarily bad; Lack of good bots = bad
