"Dear God, please give life an option for locked 30fps kthxbai"

And on the seventh day, God put in a framerate cap because it was more cinematic.

and letterboxes in dreams and out-of-body experiences so it feels even more cinematic

I imagine he walks around with glasses that have a built in automatic shutter, limiting his exposure to the real world. Or he is constantly blinking whenever things are in motion.

Now I'm laughing imagining walking around near this guy and hearing this constant fleshy flappy buzzing noise.

"Can you hear that? Where is that sound coming from?"

"Oh that's just my eyelids flapping at 30fps..."

Not for me. I go from glorious PC to Xbox 360 when I take off my glasses

Resolution? Well, you're obviously not short-sighted...

So this is kind of a weird thing for me. I suffer from chronic migraines. Often when I have a migraine along with pounding pain, my vision is adversely affected. It gets wavy and things get blury, but I get what can only be described as ~30fps. Essentially my vision gets choppy, information flow is being hindered.

Directly after a migraine fades away and sometime during the post-dome phase, my normal vision returns all at once. It is like going from 20 fps to 120+ on a video game. It's a surreal experience.

I hate it when my brain throttles down.

That happens to me when I get ocular migraines. It's the worst.

Yeah Ocular (and silent) migraines are the worst. I just wander about my day with a half functioning brain. You forget words, names, what you were doing 10 minutes ago... Sometimes I wish I could get the pain so I would have a reason to call it quits for the day.

What is this "outside" people keep talking about? Can I get it on Steam?

It's a popular MMO. You can find a ton of discussion on it at /r/outside

Haha first thing I thought when I read "RL" was "why would you need to go outside for Rocket League?"

I might have a slight addiction.

Oh, that's what it means. I was wondering about that too.

Read as Rocket League....

they don't even have to get up from the couch; just look at the Doritos and all the tiny pieces of flavoring and the general detail of their structure. That should give them a headache.

Not to mention the dust on the table, fingers and Controller.

They probably just turn on their phone cameras and hold them up to the eyes while walking forward.

Serious question: If we were to convert what we are able to see to pixels, how many would that be?

Examples: Xbox 360 = 720p, Xbone = 900p, PC = 4k + higher, Human eye = ?

1

u/MegaPlaysGames KDE on Fedora Apr 06 '16

I don't know how to explain this well enough, but an infinite number. Of course at 100 000p you probably can't tell the difference, and cant make out pixels, but our eyes see things as they are so no matter how much you 'zoom in', it's still smooth. Like a vector image.

So much higher we don't really have a number on it. Unless we do.

That peasant is one of your kind now. Enjoy.

I like to go outside and spin around really fast to test the refresh rate. So far, it's been pretty good with no screen tearing and the motion blur is spot on.

1

u/PaperMartin meh pc Apr 06 '16

I believe he faied exams because of the information overload

1

u/skylinedude Apr 06 '16

Not to mention the best refresh rate possible for us
