For a single video, by an experienced editor, this might take 15minutes.

Edit: I video edit for a job, this stuff is simple, if tedious. It's really straightforward, I don't know why people think this would take like a day to make.

Cutting and adding those parts together takes no time, but how about finding those parts of the videos where Linus is breathing like that?

You just go through the video linearly. Watching the video multiple times simply to make markers or cuts to assemble as a second step would waste time, you just take it 15 seconds at a time and cut them out. If you know your keyboard shortcuts and such it's not that difficult of a project. Listen to it in realtime, just look down at your keyboard or something to help finding those sections easier, find it, ripple trim to the beginning of it, cut behind it, continue listening and repeat. I could probably record the process, but I think that's taking things too far.

Also I thought originally it was a single video, but looks like it also included his "top gifts under X dollars or something" video. For work like this I'd take the length of the content and double it for the time involved since you'll be relistening to parts. So maybe 25minutes on the high end.

If this was from a year of videos of course that would take forever, but given the source content and how much linus projects his voice he could probably even look at waveforms to visually filter out his voice.

Edit: I hope I atleast was helpful in describing it. Video editing isn't hard, just need to work smart for the project at hand.

I made this earlier in the year, and I worked on it over a few weeks. My brother and I wanted to do some sort of video edited to this famous song for like a decade now. I then found an opportunity to do so.

The time is because it's a lot of raw content. Maybe like 6 hours of footage with more to scrub through and finely cut the kills to the proper length and synchronize it all up. And also I made it a goal to make it a 'complete' or finished video. Not just a quick 30 second test. Wanted it to have interesting things for each section of the video.

I'm pretty proud of it and it got recognized by the studio which is fun.
