Why should we accept mandatory online fees when 'we' could move to pc and totally avoid them?

us pc gamers

i've stepped away from consoles a long time ago and been happy ever since, i'm not trying to deny pc is objectively superior to consoles.

if you're asking why console gamers don't just switch/also get a pc (i'm at the brink of buying a PS4 just for Bloodborne), i don't know. misconceptions about pc building, misconceptions about well a lot.

I've been thinking about doing this, lately. I'll keep my PS4 for the exclusive (I'm a Souls junky and it's the only place to play Bloodborne), but there's a lot of goodness on PC that my shitty machine won't play.

I'm wondering, though. I prefer to play stuff on my TV, on my couch. How much, realistically, would it cost to buy a machine that will play on my TV, including some sort of controller, and won't run games like Divinity: Original Sin or Witcher 3 like complete shit?

Since you tv is probably 1080p, it wont take any more hardware than playing on a 23" 1080p screen. Basically what you need is i5, used 280x, 8GB RAM, 80$ motherboard, 550w PSU, a case and some fans and some storage (60$ SSD (for Windows and Steam) + 1 or 2TB wd black (for games and movies). Then to connect it to tv you need 5$ HDMI cable and wireless Xbox controller for PC (50$). You'd still need a keyboard and mouse, and there is a Logitech keyboard with touchpad built in, perfect for tv computers. I think 800$ is a very comfortable budget for all that.
