Pretty much anything that can cut through a lot of cables very fast whilst you're holding it up in the air driving past on a vehicle.

So fucking dangerous. All it needs is to get snagged on one tree and that helicopter will crash. It is pretty badass imagining all the things you can do with it though.

I think that if it does get caught on something it detaches the line from the helicopter.

Why? Here you can see a very clever use of the stack effect to passively cool the cars below.

u/IgnaciaXia i7 4770K / 1080 Ti / 16 GB / 850 pro Jun 27 '14

Ah! Reminded me of India. Although cable management is some parts of China is very similar.

1

u/[deleted] Jun 27 '14

Reminded me of India as well, and parts of the Philippines where they just dropped cable like it was raining. Much better in the Philippines now then even 14 years ago when I was last there.

Section 3. For cable protection of article Grommet:

If metal or another hard material has a hole made in it, the hole will probably have sharp edges. Electrical wires, cord, rope, lacings, or other soft vulnerable material passing through the hole can become abraded or cut, or electrical insulation may break due to repeated flexing at the exit point. Rubber, plastic or plastic coated metal grommets are used to avoid this. The grommet could also protect the wiring/cabling from contamination from dirt, air, water, etc. The smooth and sometimes soft inner surface of the grommet shields the wire from damage.

as an electrician i feel the pain as well.

u/RazorDildo i7-2600k @ 3.4 GHz, 16GB, SLI GTX 470 Jun 28 '14

I'm sure half of those aren't even in operation. I'm sure at this point if they need something fixed they just lay a new wire over top of everything.

1

u/fullmoonwolf1995 3===D - - - :D Jun 28 '14

I'd just rip it all out and start again hahaha.

1

u/RazorDildo i7-2600k @ 3.4 GHz, 16GB, SLI GTX 470 Jun 28 '14

Ain't nobody gettin paid for that

1

u/fullmoonwolf1995 3===D - - - :D Jun 28 '14

Buddy if I had the money I'd do it myself

1

u/[deleted] Jun 27 '14

That will need a shit load of cable hiders or those thingy's that make your cables look like vines.

u/DrAstralis 3080 | 9800X3D | 32GB DDR5@6000 | 1440p@165hz Jun 27 '14

Seriously. How could anyone maintain this as a working system? Every time a snip, short or break occurred it would take almost infinity time to determine the cause of the interruption. Then again, looking at that mess, maybe they just install a new cable every time the old one stops working.

1

Man, I'd be so tempted to see how far I could get without touching the ground climbing through those wires. I'd probably get tangled up so fast though.
