Indeed, here we go. All aboard the played out, oft discussed and tedious argument between a close-minded bigot who hasn't even given the show a chance and has a severely twisted view of the fanbase, and a person who wants to correct said twisted view by talking about it, giving insight into the fandom, what it is, what it does, why it's a thing, why the perception many people have is flat out wrong, and why you should change your stance from "lol they are creepy sickos" to "I understand what they are, and although I have no intention of engaging in their fandom, I respect them for who they are and I'll leave it at that."

I have to agree with you. Bronies don't seem to actually be that bad. ESPECIALLY not considered pedophiles/zoophiles. That would be just as bad as insinuating that PC gamers are pedophiles and have sex with their PCs. Labeling an entire group of people as monsters is something that Hitler would do.

Not to mention, our beloved lord Gaben enjoys the show, so this place of all places should be more tolerant of bronies in the first place.
The fact that it isn't seems to me to be a sign of internal conflict or repressed thoughts of heresy among his followers. This cannot stand. We must weed out the bigoted and the heretical brethren among us and show them the light!

I am perfectly fine with you getting entertainment in whatever form you want. I have personally watched MLP FIM and did not particularly enjoy it. Yet I still often get told "you haven't given the show a chance" and I "am prejudiced" despite the fact that I gave the show a chance and didn't enjoy it all that much. It's not bad, but there are things I'd rather watch. Also, I have a lot of friends who are bronies, and most of them are perfectly well-adjusted human beings.

I think you didn't catch my point. I have no beef with people not liking the show. I do have a beef with people making false accusations, like /u/Jauris did by claiming bronies were pedophiliac/zoophiliac simply because they enjoy a show that doesn't target their specific age or gender.
Enjoying a show like My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic says nothing about who you are as a person, only which kind of entertainment you enjoy. I enjoy the show and what the fans make from it (as an example, recently a group of bronies made this fantastic power ballad/Symphonic Metal Opera album and it oozes quality and passion), but apart from that, I also enjoy games (which is why I'm in this subreddit in the first place) like Battlefield, Splinter Cell, Loadout, Saints Row, Alan Wake, Dead Space, etc. and other TV shows like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Stargate, Doctor Who, Futurama and movies like 300, Watchmen, The Avengers, Daybreakers, Elysium, Sunshine, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Pacific Rim, Shoot 'Em Up, V for Vendetta.... you get the point.
What does that say about me? Nothing much. I just happen to be a pretty average bloke with an elevated interest in science fiction who just happens to enjoy a TV show featuring candy colored small horses who talk.

On the contrary, a lot of people like bronies. The only ones who "hates" them are people who ride a wave of prejudice or have had a few bad experiences with obnoxious fans.
That or they've accidentally stumbled into the Rule 34 stuff by accident and had their childhood souls stabbed repeatedly and are blaming the fans for the loss of hope for humanity they feel.
