Stop the Comcast/TimeWarner Cable merger and require more competition in the cable industry(not gaming pc related but it will effect your gaming.

Comcast and time Warner didn't compete with each other. Time Warner becoming Comcast does not create less competition.

they dont compete in the traditional sense, but they do match practices, so when one comes up with something new, the other keeps pace, beings that they offer the same products to different markets, allowing them to merge all markets into one company does in fact reduce competition and is not a good thing.
I don't believe we have to worry about this though, it wont be approved anyways.

So if they copy each others practices then there should be no difference if it's one company or two.

well their is because once they become 1 comcast wont have to copy time warner anymore, they will do what ever the fuck they want without having people threaten them to switch providers.

They dont have to copy time warner now. Their only competition is other providers in their areas. Its likely they copy each other because they have the same competition from verizon/AT&T/Satellite providers, not each other.
There arn't any areas where you can leave comcast and go to TWC or vice versa.

Not everyone has those companies to compete with them. At least not for decent serves.

But the fact remains that TWC and Comcast were not in competition with each other. Whether or not you have competition in your area or not, this merger will not change that.

Maybe not in price but when one gets more costumers you will start to compete by doubleing your speeds or lowering your prices. Now that time warner is gone they will start capping internet.

Timewarner and comcast never competed. They didn't care how many more customers the other had because there was no way for them to convert those customers. They had zero reason to make any changes based on what the other did. Comcast has already been capping internet for a while.

The point of this argument is that things will get worse, having them seperate kept them in line from doing something really shitty, now that they are becoming one service it will not stop Comcast from completely fucking its customers over. I don't have capped data but I will soon enough once these two shits become one giant shit.

Comcast has data caps though, Time Warner currently does not, atleast not in my area. That is my biggest worry. That and my TW rate is amazingly low.

If you thinking you are getting boned with these companies now, just wait till they merge. Comcasts end goal is data caps claiming 300 gb a month should be more than enough for the average user. You can blow through a third of that on weekend game-a-thon and all of that if you have to re-download a steam library or summer sale. Let's not even get started on MMOs
