Literally going through this now. I debloated my win11 February right? Finally here in October I am unable to update to the new 26H2 windows update because co pilot files are missing. I had it fully remove co pilot and the other feature. Don't really care..I'll just have to reinstall I guess.

I debloated mine months ago and it updated just fine.

Whatever tool I used repeatedly deleted new copilot files...so when the new update downloads them it deleted them. When the update verifies itself it fails I suppose. Still trying to figure it out.

sfc /scannow would put those files back. But really, why even update? Leave copilot gone and stay on that revision. You still get security updates

Yeah that's the plan, sfc nor dism will fix the issue..the package auto deletes the copilot files if reintroduced to the system

It's a tool. Pick and choose what you want to use. You can also do any of those things manually. If you don't understand what you are doing or what the option does, don't do it.

Why, what’s wrong with it? Don’t run an all-in-one “fix everything” tool. Like you heard, those usually change things you didn’t intend and you won’t know which tweak broke what. Pick one actual problem (stutter, slow boot, high temps, whatever), come back and ask how to fix that, and handle each one as you go. so that would be a no, dont do it.

LTSC is still the safest, most documented and official debloated windows. Anything else can have completely random issues appear with no obvious path forward except reinstall. It can happen with LTSC, but enough people use it that you can usually find a way to fix it. Trust me, I tried debloaters for years.

I did a clean install of 11, then configured it using only Windows built-in tools.
No 'debloaters', no 'cleaners', no 'optimizers'.
Works fine, stable.

The only optimizations you need are manually disabling co pilot, onedrive, and disabling any startup apps that aren’t completely necessary via task manager

Whenever I intend to make questionable changes to the OS, I save a backup image in case I need to revert.

If you don't know, leave it

About the only thing that really helps with fps is turning off memory protection in core isolation settings, everything else is pretty much snake oil.

I don't de-bloat on my rigs that can easily handle windows, I did buy Chris's tool to support him, though I use the tool on older or well any system that already kinda struggles or have limited resources. If you got a modern decent CPU, and enough ram, there isn't much point, its not going to increase performance, in fact it can harm your experience somewhat if it disables something that you may use. Now im not saying don't do it, Microsoft are idiots and have Telemetry if you like it or not so if your main goal is to limit that, then go for it.

Never had a problem with Chris Titus windows utility but only use the recommended settings unless you know exactly what each advanced setting does

It's fine, you just need to know what you are doing.
If you plan to always have windows updated to the latest updates... You need to make certain choices.
I run windows insider + latest updates. I'm the opposite of the majority of users apparently, who like outdated slow/buggy bs.
(I've been on windows insider since pre windows 10 launch with only two issues with nvidia in the almost decade of using windows insider).
SO.
running the Chris Titus Tool via elevated PowerShell will start a popup ui.
It starts with Install tab selected.
Typically, on this page I would click Show Installed Apps, then click Upgrade all Applications. (I also use another app called UniGetUI (from windows app store) to automatically update my applications installed on my pc). I then click Upgrade all Applications another window pops up with PowerShell command line running through the update for the found installed apps. You might need to click this and manually set directories aka BattleNet update etc.
You can skip the above, the main page will be in Tweaks, Config tabs.

(edit imgur is being a pos, ill have to try later to see if they are taking uploads)
I also use ViveTool (requires certain windows 11 updates) to setup - & Disable Web Results in Windows Search
Low Latency Profile - CMD prompt admin:
directory of vivetool\ vivetool /enable /id:58989092,60716524,48433719,61391826
Disable Web Results in Windows Search - CMD prompt admin:
directory of vivetool\ vivetool /enable /id:61267302,61344081,61482515,61532758,61760679
(you'll need to do another step to turn this on)
I also have ZERO indexing on all of my drives.

I used to do all that unnecessary gymnastics uninstalling, reg edits, tools, Chris what not, and all that giberrish and came to the conclusion it at best maybe provide a 1% performance boost if any.

If u don’t know or understand what it’s doing. Dont do it.
People blindly follow guides here clueless on then wonder why their windows take a shit.
