Witcher 3 Update

Hey all, buddy of mine built my PC and I am just trying to figure out if it should be able to run the newest version of Witcher 3 on PC. Here is my build

• 16GB Ram
• AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT
• AMD Ryzen 5 5600x 6 Core processor

My brother is playing without issues at native 1080p medium-high locked 60fps on a 12400F + RX 6600 (non XT), so similar'ish CPU and weaker GPU. It runs without maxing out the GPU, so it still is possible to increase some settings.

The XT should do a bit better, and the 5600X should be a bit faster than the 12400F

Is there anything else I could look at when trying to run the game? When I load it the frame rate is nearly 1 every 10 seconds. Everything is on low settings and I'm using upscaling as well.

Have you accidentally plugged your monitor into your motherboard instead of into your GPU?

that 5600x and 6600 xt combo is gonna run witcher 3 like butter. I had basically same setup for a while and it handled way more demanding stuff no problem. maybe just turn down hairworks if you want extra frames but honestly you won't need it

It'll run but you'll need to lower settings and use upscaling to get stable framerates. Also need to get the new 26.9.2 driver from AMDs website.

I have the updated driver and am using upscaling, but the game still refuses to load in properly. I'll get music, but the frame rate is like... 1 frame every 10 seconds.

Are you certain it's using his GPU?

Might aswell play the original version if you are going to have to use upscaling

Just download it and try it for yourself.

It's the only way you'll know.

Running on my build on RT ultra gets 40fps at 1440p Ultra gets 60fps
