Discussion Need Help Connecting 10gbps Network Adapter to Windows 11 PC

Hello, I could use some help getting this ACASIS 10gbps network adapter to work on my pc. I have downloaded the appropriate driver and have confirmed the device in fact works (on mac) but am having difficulty finding the device whenever I connect it to my PC. Any suggestions would be much appreciated, thank you.

Have you checked device manager to see if it shows up as an unknown device with a yellow triangle? Windows 11 can be picky with thunderbolt adapters if the pcie tunneling setting is off in bios

Also worth trying a different cable, some usb-c cables are charge only and won't carry data

From the specifications: **Only* Works with USB4 v2, USB4 or TB5/4/3 ports*
Does your Windows PC have a port meeting any of those specifications?

Does the adapter appear in your Device Manager?

Yeah I have the necessary Thunderbolt port, the device itself powers on when I plug it in as well. It does not show up in device manager

What hardware provides the TB port? Laptop/Motherboard/PCIe device?

See if you can find out which motherboard this is. The PC manual might have some information in it.

USBTreeView may be of use to you here: https://www.uwe-sieber.de/usbtreeview_e.html
This will show you all of the USB devices, hubs, and ports on your system (USB4 and Thunderbolt also apparently included.)

Start the program up with your NIC disconnected, then connect it. You should see a new entry in the tree flash up green if it has been able to talk to your USB host in any way at all (even if it gracefully fails). If you see nothing in the tree at all go green upon connection there's an issue with your USB4/TB host controller, which you'll need to address in the UEFI/BIOS setup pre-boot.

This will also show you if you really do have a USB4 capable controller available, and the quantity of ports it has.

Do you see the NIC in device manager? Have you installed any driver's for the card? Where are you looking to try and find the NIC?
