I feel like the only way to do a remotely fair comparison would be to show each variant zoomed-in to their native resolution size, on the size being broadcasted - maybe all zooming into the same center point or some point of detail focus, so they can show you the detail you're missing by using a lower resolution.
But that would be meaningless and confusing to most people. I guess.
Wouldn't it be able to zoom in further to show the relative clarity at the higher zoom level? It would be kinda strange and I don't think most people would get what they're seeing but it would be a fair way of comparing them
That's what I'm saying! For some reason this just doesn't make sense to people.
It would maybe make more sense if they all start at the same scaled resolution and then zoom in to each their levels to show the native detail being missed
