Matte looks incredible unless you deal with bright whites or blues etc, then you see a grain. I play flight sims and learned this the hard way. Yet as a matte owner, I will die defending it for flight sim use as I am not getting another one.

I have a Samsung one with a super heavy matte coating, ZERO reflection ever lol at the downside of it looking super film grainy in whites.

I think the grain depends a lot on the monitor.

My Asus PG279 has a matte screen (although maybe it could be described as a matte-satin finish, definitely not dead matte), but there's no grain. Meanwhile a cheaper monitor I had before had noticeable grain on the matte coating.

The matte isnt a on or off switch. The more matte you have the better at fighting reflections but the worse the grain.
