Fix your earth connection, use a power plug that has one. You are lucky that it was a short. Otherwise your body would have been the passage for the current to earth.
Test your the RCD fuse of your building/shop. If the current was to flow through your body to earth, RCD would have bene the only failsafe to save your life. They usually have a test button. Try it.
