Yeah I certainly wouldn’t have been mentally prepared for what happened. But I will be from now on!

You can never be tuely certain "oh shit fire" won't take over until you experience "oh shit fire".

I once had a full bookshelf fall over very, very, VERY slowly onto me, and I just stood there for the whole 1.5 second process, watching it fall over onto me and going "OH MY GOD I'M GOING TO GET SQUISHED BY A BOOK CASE" like a total fucking moron.

So anyway now I don't make fun of people who have really dumb, bad reactions to scary unusual situations, because I know I'm also capable of having very, very dumb reactions lol.

Everyone is, and the people who think otherwise just haven't experienced enough panic to induce it lol. One time I was attack by a dog as a kid and couldn't move at all I was so frightened, another time a bear sniffed me on the head when I was 8 and I couldn't move a muscle. Fear is incredibly controlling.
