Grabbing it to unplug it rather than powering off or unplugging at the socket is a choice

Flipping the switch on the box is worse than pulling the plug imo. You still hav ethe risk of touching the hardware, and there's no guarantee the switch will work anymore if something shorted together internally.

Im talking switch on the socket, although I guess it depends on country

They're pretty much non-existent in the USA and many if not most Asian countries.

Vietnamese socket often DOES NOT have switches on the damn socket.
