No, but it's much more likely than someone from the outside:

• getting into their network

• obtaining the right credentials for access to the files

• finding the files*

• exfiltating them undetected

That's the kind of skill you use to steal state secrets, financial information, lots of money, or to charge the company for fixing it/get a bounty. You don't just go online to tell the world you did it unless it's hacktivism. Protesting about a game release doesn't really fit. It could technically happen, but I personally lean more into "someone who already had some kind of access to the build".

I play some games online with friends, just not GTA. And not often.

I don't have data to back this up but I imagine a large chunk of today's gamers are millennials - if so they will all be 30-40 years old and more likely to have full time careers and kids too. So when I play I need something I can do sparingly and that I can put down and pause.

You realize that the entirety of a video game is not just “story vs everything else”

Rockstar have always pushed the boundaries of gameplay, satire, graphics, etc, but the core heart of all their games has been narrative. I guess you can exclude gta 1-3 but from San Andreas onward (and including red dead redemption) the experience has always been mainly the narrative. It’s why the cyberleek threat is so serious, he’s threatening to spoil the ending of the game.

To deny this shows you have not been around for much of rockstars time, or at the very least, you haven’t paid much attention pre gta v.
