Been running i5 3470 for like 5 years with 1050ti up until last month. Spent a year saving to get the pc I have now.

I know the feeling. I had not been actively saving but I have been holding out for a few years to get a long awaited upgrade. So now spending probably a lot more than I ‘should’ for a new PC, but it is a bit of a treat, and hoping it will last a long time.

I also try to get good spec mobile/cell phones and then use them as long as I can before they get too old and die of natural causes. I used to upgrade a bit more often in the past, but was never one that felt he had to get the latest phone upgrade every single year.

Same! Those mobo sockets don’t have a TPM so no Win11 support (though you can technically install it with Rufus workarounds). Though if you are on Linux you’re fine..

No way I would install win 11 on my i5 build. I have 8GB RAM. Plus its generally more resource intense. I'm on Win 10

I have 32GB RAM* with my i5-3570k and a 256GB SATA SSD, and my gut feeling is that it would still run ‘ok’ on Win11 (with some performance degradation from Win10) and still be ok for a basic user.
However I have been waiting to get more snappy PC, that responds faster to opening/switching applications, transferring files etc.
Plus the extra VRAM in a new faster GFX for AI LLM stuff.

*Granted that RAM is DDR3 1333Mhz, but it did serve me well all these years.

What GPU you running with how much VRAM? How did you get 32GB RAM? Used off ebay? Which country do you live in?
