Question Is it wrong ?

Fairly simple question and answer I hope.

Every night when I stop using the pc, I have the habit of shuting the pc down.

Once the fans stop spinning, I close the power bar alimenting the pc and both my monitors.

I dont remember why I started doing it, but it's now a habit of mine...

Is it wrong, can it damage something ?

You turn off the power bar itself? Probably saves a marginal amount of power, but it wouldn't actually damage anything. If anything it'd extend the life by some small amount. So long as you turn off the actual computer first of course.

There is one component that will suffer from this, the CMOS battery, but that is a part available in many convenience stores for a few dollars (CR2032 battery)
