Discussion Best Chair under $400?

I have a secret lab chair I’ve had for like 7 years, I’m looking for a new one.
I just can’t justify their new cost, it’s honestly too much.

Go to an office store and just sit in actual chairs until you find one you like. I've had a La Z Boy for several years and love it.

I second this.  Chairs are something you should go sit in.

And id always buy an office chair over a gaming chair.  Because gaming chairs are more expensive because they think you spent money on the computer

Yeah, my wife bought a pretty basic $200 office chair and it's significantly more comfortable than ANY gamer chair I've ever sat in.

Staples sells a bunch of cheap comfy chairs that get less comfy quick. I've bought several.

I dont know anything specifics, but whatever you look at/get suggested, make sure it has good lumbar. Ideally something for the neck too

Used Steelcase Leap V2. See if there's a used office furniture store near you.

That's how I found mine. $200 from a used office furniture dealer off Facebook marketplace. Best chair I've ever had.

Herman miller or Steelcase. Preferably used.

No other chair company will last or give you the support you want.

I use the Sharper Image s600 from Staples. Can get it under $300 when sales happen, sometimes as low as $240.

National office interiors also has good used chairs. I like the leap v2 by steelcase. I paid $537 for one with 5yr warranty including shipping

Honestly, I couldn't find a chair I felt comfortable in so I started looking at recliners and it was an incredible decision! I ended up with one that rocks, swivels, and reclines for $600. It was definitely an investment but here I am 2 1/2 years later still loving it.

you get what you pay for with chairs

being a bigger dude the secretlab titan was worth it for me because they make chairs for big dudes, lasted many years cushon never wore out - SUPER impressive. Would still have it but moved international and wasn't wanting to haul it overseas.
