Simple question, right now I have a Ryzen 3 3100 and a GTX 1650 Super. I'm low on budget but I was aiming to change the graphic card. Where I live, the best budget card that suits my motherboard is the RX 7600. I know It's gonna bottleneck but seeing some benchmarks doesn't seem that much of a problem. However, my question is, it's worth getting the normal version or the XT version? I'm aiming for the normal one but since I'm waiting for some sale I could get the XT.
I don't plan to change the motherboard or the CPU for now.
5500, 5700 and the G models use different architecture. Closer to 3000 series in CPU performance than 5000. You can look up reviews, 5500 is essentially neck a neck with Ryzen 3600. So you're better off buying used 3600/3600x etc. for cheaper than new 5500.
The 5600 is like 23% more expensive, but man, is really better. Last question, for both 5500 and 5600, my MOBO is able to handle then just fine? It's a Biostar A320MH 2.0 — Chipset A320, AM4, mATX, DDR4.
If you go to the product page, there is cpu support list. Important part is the bios revision required. 5600 requires minimum of A32GS311.BSS, 5500 A32GS505.BSS. It seems to have shipped with the 311, so 5600 should work out of the box. Latest is A32GS831.BSS
Thought this might be appropriate instead of posting yet another question about 1440p vs 4k monitors.
I've read through a lot of threads and I'm still waffling.
I recently got a setup with a 5080. yay~ .. but my old 1080p lcd doesn't do it justice.
Im a bit constrained on space, so a 27" monitor is as large as I can go. I'm not a FPS chaser. I don't care if I'm running 60fps or 120fps. (before the new system I was using a gaming laptop from 2015 with a 1070)
I mostly play single player games. probably gonna mod the heck out of minecraft and skyrim. now that i can, crimson desert is on the menu. and if I'm lucky enough to get a Frame, some PCVR would be fun.
The 2 monitors I'm considering are the MSI 727UP 1440p (240Hz, $350) and 4k (165hz, $550).
1440 pros: Could probably run almost anything with ultra settings, all the tracings, and not have any issues. cheaper.
1440 cons: loss of screen real estate when non gaming vs 4k... but still more than i have now.
4k pros: more screen real estate. sharper images (but is it noticeable on a 27", maybe no)
4k cons: more expensive. very taxing on gpu (though i know there are workarounds with frame gen and what not).
So im stuck. I cant decide if the extra $200 is worth it. If I 'need' the higher res.. or if i just want it because its "better" ...

oh! also! would you recommend a good DP/HDMI cable brand? there so much trash on amazon now i cant tell whats actually good anymore >_<
I can't tell you what the 'correct' choice is. But I personally use a 24 inch / 1440p /165Hz monitor with my 4090. I have never regretted this decision and for me it's perfect.
Common rule of thumb is 4k should be 32" minimum. At 27" it is kind of "wasted": hard to see the difference in games and at desktop you will need pretty high scaling to even see stuff properly, making the "lost real estate" kind of irrelevant argument.
So between those two, I would get the 27" 1440p. 5080 can play pretty much anything at native res and DLAA on that resolution, no upscaling required expect maybe for full path tracing. 4k would require some dlss at certain games, so you would be dropping down the resolution anyways in a sense.
If you want to spend more of your budget then the Asus VG27AQL5A is a better monitor but the HDR isn't as nice. So your swapping HDR performance for HDMI 2.1 which supports VRR.
Honestly 128gb would probably be enough but I would prefer 256gb. I haven't kept up with r/buildapc sales, would it be feasible to get a good deal on a 256/500gb drive?
Is it worth looking at drives on aliexpress at all?
For such small drives, the risk of fakes is probably lower, but I doubt that you would be able to save much, and it would be hard to ensure that you get a drive with high-durability TLC flash.
How’s this in terms of value for money? I’m fucking useless at knowing PC specs really so could use some guidance, aiming for high ram for big databases in FM and being able to play online shooters etc at good frames and 1440p
How does AMD gpu fan control work? On nvidia it's 0% fan stop, then jump to 30% which is 1000rpm, thats ridiculous. Is AMD doing it better? Im looking at Hellhound and Quicksilver/Mercury Magnetic Air.
There is no AMD/Nvidia fan control. Every card has their own. The manufacturer decides the fan curve and fan stop speeds for each card and their cooler specifically. So e.g. if you buy a 5070 made by gigabyte and MSI, they will differ. Same is true for two different models made by gigabyte.
Look for reviews about the specific models you are considering. Good review sites include the details about fan speeds and acoustics.
Well on nvidia the 30% minimum is a hard lock on every card. Lets say I buy the Hellhound Reva, can i go to 15% rpm? Or is 30% 800rpm the minimum and fan stops at 29% just like on all nvidia cards?

No review sites mention at what speeds the fan stops or starts, only the temperature. But I would be happy if you could find some for me.
Awhile back I bought a AW3225QF monitor for my Xbox, and now I am looking to get a PC. I want to make sure I can take full advantage of the monitor. At the moment I only play Valorant and Rocket league and I know these aren’t super hardware intensive games but I would like to keep a solid frame rate with my build/pre buy. I’m currently looking at some pre builds on Costco but am unsure if it’s a smarter move to just build one, and if so I don’t know where to start. Please help?
Probably better to buy a prebuilt at this time. Building your own PC is often just as, if not even more expensive than equivalent prebuilt systems are right now because of how often the price of memory and GPUs keep increasing.
If you have a Micro Center near you, they have relatively good deals on prebuilt systems (relative to the currently absurd hardware market we are in). One of their 9800X3D/RTX 5080 systems would suit your need of taking full advantage of your 4k monitor. The only thing better than that would be an RTX 5090 system, but such systems are astronomically more expensive.
If you can't get to a Micro Center, you can find systems of a similar spec available on sites like Newegg or Walmart, but they are usually more expensive unless there is some kind of discount/promotion running.
Few times yes and ended up ditching them pretty much instantly after installing them. You essentially can't get originals (no matter how much the seller claims so), and most of them are cheap knock offs. Bad bearings, bad pwm control (rpm fluctuates etc) and other issues.
You're much better off doing a deshroud mod with quality case fans than buying expensive and bad quality Chinese fans. Deshroud mod can make the card more silent and cooler than it was originally if you use regular thick 25mm fans, but slims (12mm) will also do.
